Also known as Japanese Pepper, Sansho is prized for its abundant, aromatic, small red fruits which are accented by handsome, dark green 3 to 6 inch long leaves. The dried fruit hulls and peppery-tasting foliage are used in Japanese cooking. Sansho grows to 6 to 8 feet in height and is hardy to about minus 10°F.
